Fiona is the Associate Head responsible for the Self Access Team. This team is responsible for the Self Access Centre, the language learning advisory service (LLAS), the practical language activities (PLAs), the Special Interest Groups (SIGs), the English Language Mentoring Scheme (ELMS), the lessons on demand (LoDs), the Self Access Workshops, IELTS support, the co-ordination & appraisal of Instructor IIs and ELC student helpers.

Fiona is also a contact for students who have not met the English Language Requirement for graduation and also the contact for visitors to the ELC from overseas.

Fiona is also part of the Self Access Centre's Language Learning Advisors' team. Her areas of expertise and interest for language learning advising are IELTS preparation, essay writing, pronunciation and vocabulary acquisition.

Her professional interests include independent learning and materials development. She has written and co-written several EFL text books and CD-Roms.
